Spiritual Atmosphere Marks Eid Al-Adha Prayer in Ourika

Like in prayer grounds across the Kingdom of Morocco, thousands of worshippers gathered from the early hours of Wednesday morning at the Ennassraniya Stadium prayer ground in Douar El Hajeb, Ourika, to perform the Eid Al-Adha prayer for 2026 in a deeply spiritual and religious atmosphere.

Starting at 7:15 a.m., the imam of El Hajeb Mosque, Mr. Ahmed Moussa, led the Eid prayer attended by worshippers arriving from neighboring villages, many accompanied by their children.

Immediately after the two Rak’ahs of the Eid prayer, the imam delivered a sermon reminding worshippers of the importance of performing the prayer and listening to the khutbah before carrying out the ritual sacrifice, in accordance with the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim.

During his sermon, the imam also emphasized the importance of visiting relatives and neighbors, strengthening family ties, and upholding social solidarity, values highly encouraged in Islam. He further called on worshippers to maintain environmental cleanliness and avoid polluting public spaces with waste and remains from sacrificial animals.

The imam concluded with prayers for the protection of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and the Royal Family, while also paying tribute to the late Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II.

At the end of the ceremony, the local authority chief, Mr. Khalid Naciri, the president of the territorial commune of Ourika, Mr. Mohammed Aknsous, alongside several civilian and military figures, greeted the imam and exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers.
