14-Year-Old Student Dies in Zaraba Rocade Canal While Escaping Extreme Heat

The city of Kelaat Sraghna was shaken by a tragic incident after a 14-year-old student drowned in the “Zaraba T2” agricultural irrigation canal located at the northern entrance of the city, amid an intense heatwave affecting the region in recent days.

According to multiple sources, the victim, who was attending middle school in the third preparatory grade, had gone to the canal with a group of children to swim and escape the soaring temperatures before suddenly disappearing beneath the water in tragic circumstances.

Authorities and Civil Protection Launch Emergency Response

Following notification of the incident, local authorities and civil protection teams rushed to the scene and immediately launched search and recovery operations. The child’s body was later retrieved from the canal, leaving his family and local residents in deep shock and sorrow.
