Marrakech: Police Raid Near Ibn Tofail Hospital Leads to the Arrest of 11 People

Coordinated security operation carried out at dawn
Judicial police officers of Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), in coordination with the Anti-Gang Unit of the Marrakech Police Prefecture, carried out a security operation in the early hours of Thursday, targeting an apartment located in a residential building near Ibn Tofail Hospital in Marrakech.
Eight individuals found inside the apartment
According to preliminary information, the operation resulted in the arrest of eight people who were inside the apartment, including four women and four men.
Investigation expanded to additional suspects
As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities also detained the representative of the building’s homeowners’ association, the building caretaker, and the owner of the apartment, in an effort to clarify all aspects of the case.
Judicial investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor
All eleven individuals were taken to the Marrakech Police Prefecture, where they were placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation aims to determine the circumstances of the case, establish any legal responsibilities, and take the appropriate legal measures.
