Royal Gendarmerie Seizes MAD 2 Million Aboard Passenger Bus Traveling from Casablanca to Tan-Tan

Large Cash Sum Found Hidden in Passenger’s Luggage at Amskroud

Officers of the Royal Gendarmerie assigned to the territorial unit of Amskroud seized approximately MAD 2 million that had been carefully concealed inside the luggage of a passenger traveling on a bus operating between Casablanca and Tan-Tan via the motorway.

The seizure took place during a routine security inspection, when officers conducted a thorough search of the vehicle and discovered the cash. The money was confiscated in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.

Judicial Investigation Launched to Determine the Source of the Funds

Following the operation, the Judicial Center of the Royal Gendarmerie in Agadir, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, opened an in-depth investigation to determine the true origin of the funds, examine the circumstances surrounding their possession, identify their intended destination, and uncover any possible connections to unlawful activities.

Investigators are continuing their inquiries to establish all the facts and identify any individuals who may be involved.
