Is Fouzi Lekjaa about to enter party politics? Reports link him to Morocco’s Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM).

Morocco’s political scene is gaining momentum ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 23, 2026, amid media reports suggesting that Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, may be preparing to join the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM).

According to a national newspaper, citing informed sources, a meeting held earlier this month between Fouzi Lekjaa and Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri reportedly resulted in a preliminary agreement regarding his membership in the party, with the possibility of receiving the party’s nomination to run in the Berkane constituency in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The same sources also indicated that Lekjaa could be appointed to the party’s Political Bureau as part of a strategy aimed at strengthening its leadership with prominent national figures ahead of the electoral process.

Attention is now focused on the PAM National Council meeting scheduled for July 25, which could provide further clarity on these reports if they are officially confirmed.

So far, no official statement has been issued by either Fouzi Lekjaa or the Authenticity and Modernity Party confirming these reports. Lekjaa had previously stated that if he ever decided to enter party politics, he would announce it personally.
