Youssoufia Governor Conducts Surprise Visit to Provincial Hospital to Assess Healthcare Services

Inspection of Emergency Department and Patient Care Conditions

The Governor of Youssoufia Province, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the provincial administration, carried out an unannounced field visit on Thursday, June 11, to the Provincial Hospital of Youssoufia as part of ongoing efforts to monitor the healthcare sector and assess the quality of medical services provided to citizens, particularly within the emergency department.

The visit included an inspection of the department’s facilities to evaluate the working conditions of medical and nursing staff, review attendance and staff engagement levels, and observe patient reception procedures and the quality of healthcare services being delivered.

Review of Operational Mechanisms and Service Continuity

During the visit, the provincial official received detailed briefings on the operational mechanisms implemented to ensure the continuity of healthcare services and to effectively respond to the needs of the local population.

Recognition of Civil Society’s Contribution to Healthcare Development

The visit also provided an opportunity to review initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare provision across the province. The Governor praised the efforts of civil society organizations, particularly the “Friends of Lalla Hasna Provincial Hospital Association,” which, in coordination with local authorities and the Provincial Human Development Committee, helped mobilize financial resources to recruit specialist physicians, thereby addressing workforce shortages and improving healthcare delivery.

Enhancing Emergency Services and Patient Management

The provincial authority also reviewed the services provided by the emergency department, which plays a key role in improving patient care quality and ensuring faster medical interventions.

Commitment to Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure

At the conclusion of the visit, the Governor of Youssoufia reaffirmed the commitment of provincial authorities to continue supporting healthcare infrastructure and medical equipment development. He stressed the importance of ongoing coordination with the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection and other stakeholders to improve healthcare services and enhance patient reception and care conditions.
