How to Reach the Sidi El Wafi Springs in Tagadwint from Marrakech

The Sidi El Wafi Springs in Tagadwint are among the natural destinations worth visiting for lovers of exploration, hiking and outdoor adventures. However, visitors coming from Marrakech need to know the available routes and transportation options, especially during periods of high tourist activity.

Departure from Marrakech
The journey generally begins at Bab Aghmat station in Marrakech, locally known as “Souk Er-Rbiâ”, where several means of transport are available towards the Tagadwint area.
1. Grand taxis
Grand taxis are one of the available options for reaching Tagadwint. When all six seats are occupied, the journey can be made directly. The fare generally ranges between 25 and 30 dirhams per person, depending on the time of year.
If no direct trip is available, travelers can first take a taxi towards Aït Ourir, then change vehicles and continue towards Tagadwint.
2. Shared transport vehicles
Shared transport vehicles offer another option for travelers. They follow approximately the same route, with the possibility of changing vehicles in Aït Ourir when a direct journey is not available.
This option is generally cheaper than grand taxis, although the journey may take longer because of the nature of this type of transport and the different stages of the route.
3. Urban buses
Visitors can also use urban buses for the first part of the journey. However, these buses do not reach the Sidi El Wafi Springs, as their route ends at Aït Ourir.
From Aït Ourir, travelers must change transportation, either taking a grand taxi or a shared transport vehicle to continue towards Tagadwint.
4. Your own car or motorcycle: the most practical option
For visitors with their own vehicle, traveling by car or motorcycle remains the most practical and fastest option.
The distance from Marrakech is approximately 60 kilometers, a journey that can take around one and a half hours, depending on road conditions and traffic.

The final stage… the journey is not over yet!
Reaching the Tagadwint station does not mean that the journey is over. One final stage remains before arriving at the Sidi El Wafi Springs.
From the station, motorized three-wheelers are available to take visitors along the remaining distance, estimated at around two kilometers, towards the bridge and then the Sidi El Wafi Springs. The fare is approximately 3 dirhams per person.
Traffic congestion can make access difficult
The final section of the route is also one of the main challenges facing visitors, due to frequent traffic congestion in the area, particularly during peak periods.
At times, traffic can come to a complete standstill. Local residents and citizens may then help organize traffic alongside members of the Auxiliary Forces and local authorities, in an effort to improve traffic flow and facilitate access to the tourist area.
The journey in brief
Reaching the Sidi El Wafi Springs in Tagadwint from Marrakech involves several stages, depending on the means of transport chosen.
Despite the various stages, the journey itself offers a beautiful experience, particularly as travelers approach the mountain landscapes and natural surroundings that characterize the Tagadwint area.
Advice for visitors
Visitors are advised to set off early in the morning, especially during weekends and periods of high tourist activity. This can help avoid traffic congestion and allow more time to enjoy this beautiful natural destination.
