Security operation in Ourika leads to arrest of suspected drug dealer, cocaine and ecstasy seized

As part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and drug trafficking, officers of the Royal Gendarmerie’s territorial center in Ourika arrested a man in his thirties during the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026. The suspect was the subject of a wanted notice over his alleged involvement in the trafficking of various types of drugs.

Well-planned sting operation

The security operation, supervised by the commander of the Royal Gendarmerie territorial center in Ourika, followed a carefully planned sting that resulted in the suspect’s arrest inside his home in what was described as a precise and high-profile intervention.

Cocaine, ecstasy and other drugs seized

Search operations led to the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine, psychotropic pills identified as “Ecstasy” and “Dopouane,” as well as a quantity of cannabis resin (chira), indicating the suspect’s alleged involvement in the distribution of narcotics and psychotropic substances in the area.
