Royal Gendarmerie in Ourika arrests two suspected drug dealers

As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and strengthen security in the Ourika region, officers from the Royal Gendarmerie Territorial Center in Ourika carried out an operation on the afternoon of Thursday, July 9, 2026, resulting in the arrest of two individuals suspected of drug dealing in Douar El Hajeb.

A well-coordinated security operation

The operation took place at around 6:00 p.m. in the “Bousentim” area at the entrance of Douar El Hajeb. The first suspect was surrounded and arrested while carrying a quantity of kif (cannabis) and tobacco leaves commonly used in preparing cannabis cigarettes.

In a simultaneous intervention, the second suspect was intercepted while riding a motorcycle. Officers seized approximately 190 grams of cannabis resin (hashish/chira), divided into small portions and prepared for sale.

Custody and investigation

The two suspects were placed in police custody at the Royal Gendarmerie Center in Ourika under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, pending further investigation aimed at identifying possible accomplices and uncovering any wider criminal network before they are brought before the King’s Prosecutor.

This operation forms part of the intensified security campaigns conducted by the Royal Gendarmerie in Ourika to combat drug trafficking networks, curb criminal activities, and reinforce public safety in the region.
