French Woman of Algerian Origin Arrested at Marrakech Airport Over Alleged Defamatory Online Content Targeting Moroccans

Judicial Investigation Leads to Nationwide Wanted Notice

Police officers at Marrakech Menara Airport arrested a 30-year-old French woman of Algerian origin on Saturday, June 13, 2026, on suspicion of disseminating online content containing defamatory and offensive remarks directed at Moroccan citizens, as well as allegations against public officials and insults targeting a legally regulated institution.

Controversial Social Media Posts Under Scrutiny

According to an authorized security source, the suspect allegedly published posts and video content through her social media accounts containing offensive statements against Moroccans. She is also accused of alleging that public officials accepted bribes and granted preferential treatment in the enforcement of traffic regulations.

Arrested While Preparing to Leave Morocco

Investigations conducted by security services under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office resulted in the issuance of a nationwide wanted notice against the suspect. She was subsequently arrested at Marrakech Menara Airport while preparing to leave Moroccan territory on a flight bound for France.

Placed in Police Custody

The suspect has been placed in police custody as part of an ongoing judicial investigation conducted by the Marrakech Regional Judicial Police Service. Authorities are continuing their inquiries to establish all circumstances surrounding the case and determine the motives and background related to the alleged acts attributed to her.
