Aït Ourir Hosts Scientific Symposium on Prophetic Communication in Contemporary Society

The Cultural Complex of Aït Ourir in Al Haouz Province hosted a major scientific and religious symposium on Friday, led by Morocco’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq. Organized by the Local Council of Ulema of Al Haouz, the event was held under the theme: “Prophetic Communication: Religious Foundations and the Continuity of Its Practice in Contemporary Reality.”

The symposium provided an important platform to explore the religious and educational dimensions of Islamic outreach and to discuss ways of adapting its methods to modern social and cultural transformations while preserving Morocco’s religious constants.

High-Level Official and Religious Participation

The event brought together the Governor of Al Haouz Province, members of the Local Council of Ulema, religious scholars, preachers, mosque officials, and imams from across the province.

This broad participation reflected the significance attached to strengthening religious guidance and enhancing coordination among stakeholders involved in spiritual and educational outreach.

Religious Outreach Reform at the Center of Discussions

The symposium forms part of ongoing efforts to advance Morocco’s strategy for improving and rationalizing religious communication, an initiative overseen by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Supreme Council of Ulema.

The strategy aims to bring religious teachings closer to citizens by promoting values of moderation, responsibility, and social cohesion, while ensuring their positive impact on both individual and collective behavior.

Toufiq Presents the Vision of the Supreme Council of Ulema

During his address, Ahmed Toufiq outlined the Supreme Council of Ulema’s vision for religious reform and the enhancement of Islamic outreach mechanisms.

He emphasized that the objective extends beyond merely conveying religious knowledge; it seeks to transform Islamic values and principles into practical behaviors that contribute to social stability, cohesion, and sustainable development.

Strengthening Values in a Rapidly Changing Society

Participants stressed the need to modernize religious communication tools in response to the challenges posed by the digital age and the growing diversity of information sources.

They also highlighted the importance of continuous training for imams and religious guides to ensure effective engagement with contemporary societal issues and expectations.
