Marrakech Police Arrest International Fugitive

Police officers from the Marrakech Police Prefecture arrested on Saturday a 38-year-old French national of Senegalese origin who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Dutch judicial authorities. He is suspected of involvement in a kidnapping and violent assault case.

According to a security source, an identity check through the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) database confirmed that the suspect was internationally wanted under a Red Notice issued at the request of the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL in The Hague.

Available information indicates that the suspect is allegedly involved in a criminal case related to kidnapping, threats, violence, and offenses against the safety and personal freedom of individuals. The alleged crimes were committed in the Dutch city of Zeist.

Following his arrest, the suspect was placed under extradition proceedings in accordance with the instructions of the competent public prosecutor. Meanwhile, the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL in Rabat, operating under Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), notified its Dutch counterpart of the arrest in preparation for completing the legal extradition procedures.

This security operation forms part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international law enforcement cooperation, enhance coordination with foreign security agencies, and track down individuals wanted internationally for cross-border criminal offenses.
